The 51 kWh badge is not a pack size
Worth knowing when you compare the e-208 with anything else. The car sold as the 51 kWh e-208 has a 54 kWh gross battery of which 51 kWh is net, and the technical catalogue records both figures for the same vehicle. Peugeot markets the net number, which is honest but makes the car look smaller than a rival quoting gross.
There is one loose end: Peugeot UK current consumer page describes its 51 kWh car as having 48 kWh usable, which agrees with neither the catalogue nor the independent data. We would use 51 kWh and note the disagreement rather than pick the outlier. The earlier car is simpler: 50 kWh gross with 46 usable.
The home charging figure
Citroen fits a 7.4 kW single phase charger as standard and sells an 11 kW three phase unit as an option. The option is for markets where three phases arrive at the building; at a British house it gives the same 7.4 kW the standard charger already does.
On the e-208 the 11 kW three phase charger was a 300 pound option under code LZ04, and it needs three phases to do anything. The independent data prints separate tables for the two chargers and both agree on the single phase row at 7.4 kW, with a full charge in seven and a half hours on the 50 kWh car and eight and a quarter on the 54.
Spending more on the lead changes nothing, as the car sets the rate. So a 32A single phase lead is the right buy on any e-208 of either generation, and nothing above it is of use.
Range grew on the same battery
The 50 kWh car was quoted at up to 217 to 225 miles. The 54 kWh car started at 254 miles and the latest homologation reaches 268 or 269 on the 156 horsepower version, from the same pack - efficiency improvements rather than a bigger battery. A 136 horsepower 50 kWh car continues alongside it at up to 226 miles.
DC charging is 100 kW throughout, with nought to eighty per cent in thirty to thirty-five minutes, and the independent measurement puts the vehicle side peak at 101 to 107 kW.

Times below are computed from the pack size and the power drawn with 13 per cent allowed for charging losses. Miles per hour is worked at 3.5 miles per kWh, a figure that survives a cold morning. Columns are the 50 kWh car at 46 kWh usable and the 54 kWh car at 51.
Seven to eight hours from flat. On a supermini with 250 miles of range that means one overnight charge covers the better part of a week for most drivers, and each hour plugged in is worth about 26 miles.
Which length for an e-208
You will find the socket on the nearside rear wing, exactly where you would look for a petrol cap. It is the pavement side of the car, which helps at a kerbside charge point and means the cable run depends on which way round you park.
The e-208 is 4.06 metres, so almost nothing is far away. Five metres reaches on the majority of driveways, particularly reversed in or with the charge point on the nearside. Ten metres covers the awkward cases. Park the car where it normally lives, walk the run with a tape, and buy the next size up from what you measure.
How these cables are built
Standards are IEC 62196-2 and CE, protection is IP55, and the specified working range runs -30C to +50C.

Peugeot e-208 charging cable questions
Is the 51 kWh e-208 a 51 kWh car?
Its pack is 54 kWh gross and 51 kWh net, and Peugeot markets the net figure. Peugeot UK own consumer page confusingly says 48 kWh usable, which no other source supports.
What cable does an e-208 need?
A 32A single phase Type 2 to Type 2 cable, on every version.
Is the 11 kW option worth having?
Only with three phase power. It was a 300 pound extra and makes no difference at a British house, where both chargers give 7.4 kW.
How long does an e-208 take to charge at home?
