Warranty & Faults

At EV Power, every cable and charging accessory comes with a manufacturer's warranty of up to 2 years from the date of purchase. See the individual product page for the exact warranty period, as this can vary by product type.

What's covered

Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship arising from normal use, including:

  • Faults developing without any external damage or misuse
  • Manufacturing defects in the control box, plug, or cable assembly
  • Premature failure not caused by the exclusions below

Warranty exclusions

Our warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, including but not limited to:

  • Water damage — our cables are weatherproofed to their stated IP rating (see your product page for details), but submersion in standing water, or damage from water ingress at damaged seals or connectors, is not covered. Signs of water ingress, including corrosion, staining, or a blue or green residue on internal copper or brass contacts, will be treated as evidence of misuse rather than a manufacturing fault.
  • Physical damage — including bending, kinking, or crushing at the plug, connector, or strain relief points, or damage from the cable being run over or trapped in doors.
  • Incompatible use — damage from use with incompatible charging equipment, unauthorised repairs or modifications, or failure to follow supplied instructions.
  • General wear and tear consistent with the product's age and usage.

Where a returned item shows signs of the above, we reserve the right to decline a warranty claim, or to offer a chargeable repair or replacement instead of a free one.

Consumer rights

In addition to our manufacturer's warranty, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. In summary:

  • Within 30 days of purchase: if a product is faulty, you're entitled to a full refund.
  • 30 days to 6 months: if a fault develops, it's presumed to have been present at the time of purchase unless we can show otherwise, and you're entitled to a free repair or replacement.
  • 6 months to 6 years: you can still claim, but the burden shifts to you to show the fault was present at the time of purchase. We may ask for evidence such as photos, a description of how the fault developed, and details of how the product was used and installed.

How to make a claim

  1. Contact us at sales@ev-power.co.uk or 01744 886305 with your order number, a description of the fault, and, where possible, photos or video.
  2. We may ask some follow-up questions to help diagnose the issue — for example, what the control box display showed, or how the product was mounted or used.
  3. Depending on the outcome, we'll offer one of the following: a full repair, a replacement part, a full replacement, or, where liability is unclear but we want to resolve things fairly, a goodwill partial refund.

These options are offered without admission of liability where a fault has not been established, and in an effort to resolve matters fairly and promptly.
