The problem it actually solves
A charging lead spends its life outdoors and then gets put in a carpeted box. Two wet weeks later the boot smells of road grit, there is a grey tide mark under the parcel shelf, and everything that touches the cable picks up a black smear. Nobody buys a bag on day one. Most people buy one by month three.
This is the everyday answer: a zipped bag with a wipeable outer that takes a coiled lead up to ten metres, keeps the water in the bag rather than in the carpet, and has handles so it comes out in one movement rather than four.
What fits, and how to coil it
Ten metres of 32A cable coils down to something that drops in comfortably. A fifteen or twenty metre lead does not, and for those there is a larger bag in the range. Coil in loose loops the width of your forearm rather than tight turns, which is easier on the sheath and quicker to pay out at the other end.
If the lead goes away wet, unzip it at home and let it dry rather than leaving it sealed for a fortnight. The bag protects the car, not the cable, and a cable left damp in a closed bag stays damp.
Where it earns its place
In the boot, mostly. It also makes the difference on a shared driveway or a car park where the lead has to come out and go back every day, and it stops the connectors rolling loose and collecting grit in the pins, which is the failure nobody notices until the car throws a charging fault.

What size cable does this bag take?
Up to a 10m charging cable coiled in loose loops. A 5m lead leaves room to spare. For 15m and 20m leads use the larger bag in the range, which is built for the extra bulk.
Is it waterproof?
The outer is water resistant and wipes clean, which is what matters when a wet cable goes into a dry boot. It is not a sealed dry bag, so open it up at home and let a soaked lead dry rather than leaving it shut for weeks.
Will it fit in a small boot?
Coiled properly it takes up about the space of a shopping bag, and it stacks under a parcel shelf in most hatchbacks. The point is that it stops the cable sprawling across the whole floor.
Do I need a bag if my cable came with one?
Some cars ship with a thin fabric sleeve, which is better than nothing and worse than this. If yours is already split at the seams, or the zip has gone, that is the usual reason people arrive on this page.
