Which cable, and why the battery does not change it
Standard Range at 70 kWh, the LFP Select at 72.6 kWh and the Extended Range at 91 kWh all share one onboard charger rated at 11 kW three phase. The cable decision is therefore the same across the range, and the battery only changes how many hours it takes.
The 7.4 kW ceiling is the house, not the cable: three phase ratings only mean something where three phases arrive. The 32A single phase Type 2 lead is what carries that 7.4 kW, and it is the cable to buy for a driveway. Keep the three phase version for a workplace with a genuine three phase feed, where the Mach-E will take all 11 kW.

Figures are calculated rather than quoted: battery divided by power, 13 per cent for losses, quarter hour rounding. Ranges run to 273 miles WLTP on the Standard Range, 292 on the LFP Select and 373 on the rear drive Extended Range. Miles per hour is worked at a conservative 3.5 miles per kWh.
Which length to buy
The flap sits high on the nearside front wing, which means the plug is roughly level with the front door on the kerb side. Point the car at a wall box on that wall and 5 metres has slack. Back onto the drive instead, or take a lead out to a car at the kerb, and it has to run most of the length of the car before it turns in, which is the case for 10 metres.
Fifteen metres is worth considering if the Mach-E lives on a shared driveway or the charge point went in at the far end of a long one.
How these cables are built
It is a CE marked IEC 62196-2 cable, IP55 against the weather, rated to work between -30C and +50C.

What charging cable does a Mustang Mach-E need?
A Type 2 to Type 2 lead, 32A single phase for home charging. Every UK Mach-E takes 11 kW on AC, and a single phase house delivers 7.4 kW of that, which the 32A cable carries completely.
Will a three phase cable charge a Mach-E faster at home?
Not at home, no. The two extra phases have nothing to connect to on a domestic supply, so you get the same 7.4 kW. At a three phase workplace post the car uses the full 11 kW and a 91 kWh Extended Range drops from about fourteen hours to nine and a half.
How long does a Mach-E take to charge overnight?
A seven hour cheap rate window at 7.4 kW puts back roughly 180 miles on any version. From empty, the 70 kWh car needs about eleven hours and the 91 kWh car about fourteen, which is why most owners charge little and often.
Is a granny charger any use on a Mach-E?
As a backup only. At 2.3 kW from a 13 amp socket you gain about eight miles an hour, so a 91 kWh battery is a multi day job. It earns its place in the boot for nights away from a charge point, not for daily use.
Where is the charge port on a Mach-E?
