    The whole range charges the same way

    The iV 60 and the 2025 facelift 60 carry 58 to 59 kWh usable for about 255 to 272 miles. The iV 80, 80x, 85 and 85x share 77 kWh usable from an 82 kWh pack, quoted from 325 miles on the 80x up to 364 on the facelift 85. The vRS runs 79 kWh usable for 349 miles. Skoda gives all of them an 11 kW three phase charger as standard.

    Unless three phases reach the wall box, and at a house they rarely do, the number that matters is 7.4 kW. The one exception in the family is the early iV 50, which had a smaller 7.2 kW single phase unit. If you have one of those, the 32A cable is still right, and the car simply finishes a little sooner than the table below suggests for the 60.

    Those times come from dividing the pack by the delivered power and adding 13 per cent for losses, then rounding to the quarter hour. Range added per hour assumes a year round 3.5 miles per kWh rather than a best case figure. Skoda's own technical data quotes about eight and a quarter hours at 11 kW three phase and twelve and a quarter at 7.4 kW single phase for the 77 kWh pack, which matches.

    DC rapid charging is 120 kW on the early cars and 135 to 185 kW across the facelift range, so an Enyaq on a long run is well served. The Type 2 lead is for home and the supermarket, and that is where most of its charging happens.

    Which length for an Enyaq

    The inlet is on the rear offside flank, the right hand side of the body. That is the standard position for Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, which the Enyaq shares with the Elroq and, under licence, the Ford Capri and Explorer. It is on the driver's side of a UK car and it does not swap over.

    The Enyaq is 4.65 metres long and the port sits well back. Reverse onto a drive with the charge point on the right and 5 metres is comfortable. Nose in, or a wall box on the left, and the lead has to travel most of the car, so 10 metres. Shared parking or a long drive is where the 15 and 20 metre versions come in. Work it out from where the car genuinely sits, not where it could sit, and leave slack.

    It is a CE marked IEC 62196-2 cable, IP55 against the weather, rated to work between -30C and +50C.

    What cable does a Skoda Enyaq use?

    Type 2 to Type 2 at 32A single phase. The 11 kW rating is a three phase figure and a British home supply turns it into 7.4 kW, which is exactly what a 32A lead carries.

    How long does an Enyaq take to charge at home?

    Skoda quotes twelve and a quarter hours from empty at 7.4 kW on the 77 kWh pack. The 58 to 59 kWh cars are nearer nine and a quarter. An overnight window is worth roughly 180 miles.

    Which side is the charge port?

    The rear offside, on the right hand rear flank, which is the driver's side on a UK car. It is the same position on the Elroq and on the MEB-based Fords.

    Would a three phase cable be faster?

    Only where three phases actually arrive, such as a workplace. At 11 kW the 77 kWh pack takes about eight and a quarter hours instead of twelve and a quarter, but at a house both cables give 7.4 kW.
