The 11 kW figure is not what you get at home
Jaecoo's UK launch material describes an 11 kW AC charger as standard, and that is accurate as far as it goes. It is a three phase figure. The right hand drive specification sheet splits it out properly and gives both numbers: 6.6 kW single phase and 10.3 kW three phase. An electric vehicle association fact sheet states the currents behind those, 30 amps on one phase and 15 amps per phase on three.
So a British house gives this car 6.6 kW, not 7.4 and certainly not 11. The 32A cable is still the right lead, because it carries 6.6 kW comfortably, but do not expect the car to use all 32 amps.
Two published charge times that cannot be right
We would rather flag this than quietly repeat it. Jaecoo UK states that home charging happens at "approximately 7kW", giving 30 to 80 per cent in 4.2 hours. Half of a 58.9 kWh usable pack is 29.45 kWh, and 29.45 over 4.2 hours is 7.01 kW delivered, which is above the car's own 6.6 kW ceiling. The claim describes the wall box rather than the car.
Worked at the real rate, 30 to 80 per cent takes about four and a half hours and a full charge about nine. A well known UK comparison site publishes 8 hours 10 minutes at 7.4 kW, which has the same problem from the same cause.
The socket is in a helpful place
The charge flap is on the offside front wing, ahead of the driver's door, confirmed on a right hand drive specification sheet and independently described as front right in the UK press. That is the front of the car, not a rear quarter, and on a compact SUV it usually shortens the cable run.
It is also a third arrangement within one brand: Jaecoo 7 offside rear, Jaecoo 8 nearside rear, E5 offside front. There is no house style to rely on, so measure the car in front of you.
Battery, range and rapid charging
Jaecoo UK publishes 60.9 kWh, which is the gross figure; the usable capacity of 58.9 kWh comes from the export specification sheet and independent databases rather than from Jaecoo, which never labels either. The pack is LFP. Range is 248 miles WLTP and efficiency 16.6 kWh per 100 km, with an eight year battery warranty.
DC charging is the one genuinely unresolved figure. Jaecoo UK says 80 kW with thirty to eighty per cent in 27 minutes, while the export sheet, the German site and the databases all say 130 kW. The published times fit 130 kW far better: 27 minutes for half of a 58.9 kWh pack is a 65 kW average, which would need an implausibly flat curve under an 80 kW peak. We quote Jaecoo UK's 80 kW because that is the UK claim, while noting that the hardware looks quicker.

Those times come from dividing the pack by the delivered power and adding 13 per cent for losses, then rounding to the quarter hour. The range column assumes 3.5 miles per kWh rather than a summer best case. Working from 58.9 kWh usable. The top row is the figure that applies to a British house and the second is what three phases would give.
About eleven hours from genuinely empty, which almost never happens. At 6.6 kW the E5 gains roughly 23 miles an hour, so a seven hour off peak window covers a 160 mile day.
Which length for an E5
Work from the offside front wing. Nose into the bay with the wall box on your right and five metres is realistic; reverse in, or put the charge point on the nearside, and ten metres is the answer.
Prices are 27,505 for the Pure and 30,505 for the Luxury, so this is a car bought on value, and a lead that is the right length first time is part of that. Take a tape measure to the run, inlet to charge point, and add a couple of metres before choosing.

Jaecoo E5 charging cable questions
Will a Jaecoo E5 charge at 11 kW at home?
No. The 11 kW rating is three phase. The right hand drive specification sheet gives the single phase figure as 6.6 kW, so that is what a British house delivers.
Jaecoo says 4.2 hours for 30 to 80 per cent. Is that achievable?
Not at home. That figure needs about 7 kW into the car and the E5 caps at 6.6. Worked properly it is around four and a half hours, and a full charge about nine.
What cable should I buy?
A 32A single phase Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The car will not use all 32 amps, but the 32A lead is the one that carries 6.6 kW without working hard.
