Five models, all Type 2, and Renault is the one brand here where a three phase cable genuinely earns its money at a public AC post rather than being dead weight.
Why the home figure is the one to read
What a car draws at home and what its brochure says are two different numbers, and the table gives you the first. A house is single phase, 32 amps of it is roughly 7.4 kW, and the gap between that and an 11 or 22 kW headline is phases rather than cable.
Where a three phase cable actually pays
The Zoe's Chameleon charger takes 22 kW from a three phase AC post, and the Q210 and Q90 reached 43 kW. The Megane E-Tech built before about May 2025 took 22 kW as standard. On those cars a three phase lead turns a 22 kW destination charger into a quick top up, which is not true of most of this catalogue.
The Scenic E-Tech carries a twist that catches people out: the smaller 60 kWh Comfort Range takes 22 kW while the larger 87 kWh Long Range is limited to 11 kW. That is backwards from what anyone assumes, and it is the one case where the cheaper car has the better charger.
None of it changes anything at home, where every car here settles near 7.4 kW. The three phase lead is for the car park, not the driveway.
Where the {M} range divides
On a domestic supply the range is uniform: the Zoe, Megane E-Tech, Scenic E-Tech and Renault 5 all reach 7.4 kW, and the 32 amp lead is what reaches that figure. The Kangoo Z.E. sits at 7 kW, and its charger is single phase, so a British house gives it its full rated speed with no derating at all. That is rare enough to be worth stating.
Renault moved the charge port as the platforms changed: the Zoe and both Kangoos behind the diamond badge at the centre of the nose, the Renault 5 front nearside, the CMF-EV Megane front offside. Renault manuals describe positions from a left hand drive view, so "driver's side" in one of them means the offside here, the opposite of how it reads.
How long a cable you need
Two things set the length: where your charge point is mounted and which corner of the car the flap sits in. Get both and the answer is obvious. Guess either and you will either be stretching a lead or coiling four spare metres on the drive.
Front and centre is the friendliest arrangement there is. A nose-charging Zoe or Kangoo parked head in against a wall box needs very little cable; reverse the same car in and you need most of ten metres.
