Lexus tells you the number that actually matters
Most manufacturers publish one AC figure and leave you to work out what your house will do with it. Lexus publishes both: the RZ brochure gives 7 kW on a single phase supply and 11 kW on three phases, with charge times for each. That is genuinely helpful, and it means there is no guesswork on this page.
The 2026 refresh replaced the 11 kW unit with a 22 kW one. At a British house it changes nothing, because the single phase ceiling is still around 7 kW. It is a useful upgrade only if you charge somewhere with three phases.

The arithmetic is simple: kWh over kW, 13 per cent on top for losses, rounded to the nearest quarter hour. Miles per hour is worked at 3.5 miles per kWh, a figure that survives a cold morning. Columns are the 2023 to 2025 cars at about 64 kWh usable from a 71.4 kWh pack, and the 2026 cars at about 72 kWh usable from 77. Lexus publishes gross capacities only, so the usable figures are estimates.
Lexus's own quoted times are ten hours on a 7 kW single phase supply and six and a half hours on 11 kW three phase, which lines up with the table. DC rapid charging is 150 kW throughout, for a 10 to 80 per cent stop of roughly half an hour.
Which length for an RZ
The RZ has a single combined inlet on the front nearside, the left hand side of the car. It sits in the same place on every version, and the Toyota bZ4X it shares a platform with shows the same front left position in left hand drive markets, which suggests it does not mirror.
A front nearside port makes nose-in parking the easy case. Nose in with the charge point on the left and 5 metres is comfortable on a 4.8 metre car. Reverse in, or a wall box on the offside, and the lead crosses the whole car, so 10 metres. Park the car where it normally lives, walk the run with a tape, and buy the next size up from what you measure.

What cable does a Lexus RZ need?
A 32A single phase Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Lexus states 7 kW on a single phase supply, which is what a British home gives, and a 32A lead carries it.
Is the 2026 car's 22 kW charger worth having?
Only if you charge somewhere with three phases. At a house the single phase ceiling is still about 7 kW, so the upgrade makes no difference on your driveway.
How long does an RZ take to charge at home?
Lexus quotes ten hours on a 7 kW single phase supply for the 2023 to 2025 cars. On three phase at 11 kW it is six and a half.
