Find your BYD and the cable is the last column

Eight models, all Type 2, and unusually for a single brand the charge socket is not in the same place twice. Some BYDs charge from the offside front wing above the wheel, others from the offside rear quarter, and at least one changed between them mid-life. That matters more to your purchase than any kilowatt figure.
What the third column means
One number governs every car on this page. A British house is fed by a single phase supply, and a 32 amp charge point on one phase delivers about 7.4 kW. A car rated above that on paper does not beat it; a car rated below it is limited by its own charger instead. That is why the third column matters more than any figure in a brochure.
What actually separates one BYD from another
Most of the range lands between 7 and 7.4 kW at a British house, which is to say a 32 amp lead delivers everything the car can take. The Atto 2, Dolphin Surf and Seal reach 7.4 kW; the Atto 3, Dolphin and Sealion 7 sit a fraction below at 7 kW, which no one will notice.
The two DM-i plug-in hybrids behave differently. The Seal 6 DM-i takes its full rated speed at home because its charger is single phase, which is a genuine advantage. The Seal U DM-i is quoted at 11 kW, which is a three phase figure and becomes about 7.4 kW on a driveway.
BYD publishes usable and gross battery capacities inconsistently across the range, and where the two disagree the model pages say which figure the charging times are worked from. That is worth knowing if you are comparing a claimed charge time against your own experience.
Choosing a length
Err on the generous side. Spare cable coils away in seconds; a lead two feet short is a return.
This is the brand where measuring genuinely pays. A socket above the offside front wheel and a charge point behind the car is the longest run on the driveway, and an owner who assumes a rear socket on a BYD has a decent chance of being wrong.
