One cable across every Model X
The 100D and Raven cars carry a 16.5 kW three phase charger and the 2021 refresh an 11 kW one. On a single phase British supply both arrive at 7.4 kW, so the 32A single phase Type 2 lead is the right cable for all of them.
We will not quote a figure for the 2016 and 2017 cars, because the sources disagree: one says 11 kW, another 16.5, and Tesla has never published a table. It makes no practical difference at a house, where the answer is 7.4 kW either way.
Which length, and why this car needs thought
The port is on the rear nearside, in the tail light, and the Model X is over five metres long with falcon doors that want clearance. A 5 metre cable is only sensible if you reverse in with the charge point on the nearside and close to the back of the car.
Take a tape measure to the run, inlet to charge point, and add a couple of metres before choosing. For most driveways 10 metres is the honest answer, and 15 removes the argument entirely on a shared or awkward space.

The calculation is the battery over the delivered kW, uplifted 13 per cent for charging losses, quarter hour rounded. Tesla does not publish battery capacities, so the kWh figures here are independent estimates and the times are close rather than exact. The columns are a 90D at about 85.5 kWh usable and a 100 at roughly 95. Published ranges span 304 miles NEDC on the early car to 576 km WLTP on the 2023 one, on two different test cycles.

Which cable suits a Tesla Model X?
A Type 2 to Type 2 lead at 32A single phase. Every Model X generation is limited to 7.4 kW on a UK domestic supply, and that is what the 32A cable delivers.
How long does a Model X take on a home charger?
From empty at 7.4 kW, roughly thirteen hours for a 90D and fourteen and a half for a 100. In practice an overnight top up puts back about 180 miles.
What length do I need for a Model X?
Ten metres for most driveways. The car is over five metres long and the port is at the back on the nearside, so five metres only reaches when you reverse in with the charge point on that side.
Does the 16.5kW charger help at home?
No. It is a three phase rating and British homes have a single phase supply, so the car draws 7.4 kW regardless. It matters only at three phase destination chargers.
