Three different cars, one cable
The badge covers the 2020 to 2024 Hybrid 225 plug-in, the 2025-on Plug-in Hybrid 225, and the electric ë-C5 Aircross launched in 2025. All three take a 32A single phase Type 2 to Type 2 lead and all three draw 7.4 kW at a British house, so the cable decision is the easy part.
Everything else differs. The 2020 car has 13.2 kWh at 200 volts for 34 electric miles. The 2025 hybrid has 21 kWh gross and 17.8 usable for 50 miles combined and 67 in the city cycle. The electric car has 73.7 kWh usable in Comfort Range form for 322 miles, or 96.9 usable in Long Range form for 421 miles.
Neither plug-in hybrid has a DC socket
Nothing on this car takes DC. There is no rapid socket to fall back on, so the Type 2 lead is not an accessory you might use, it is the only route electricity ever takes into the battery. Buy a used one without a cable in the boot and it is a petrol car until you do.
The electric ë-C5 Aircross is the opposite case, with 160 kW DC on both battery sizes. Comfort Range averages 90 kW to eighty per cent for a 36 minute stop; Long Range averages 135 kW for 32 minutes. So within one model name you have two cars that cannot rapid charge at all and one that does it rather well.
What Citroen UK specifies, which is not the European picture
The plug-in hybrids are 7.4 kW single phase cars in UK specification. Citroen UK launched the 2020 car with what its press release calls a "7kW on-board charger capable of accelerated charging" in under two hours from a 32 amp wall box, and the price list for the 2025 car states a flat maximum AC charging capacity of 7.4 kW with no smaller variant offered.
That matters because Stellantis international material describes the same 2025 car as 3.7 kW standard with 7.4 kW optional, quoting five hours fifteen minutes against two hours fifty-five. Both appear on Citroen's UK consumer pages, but the UK price list settles it: British cars get the 7.4 kW unit.
The electric version takes the opposite approach and has the 11 kW three phase charger as standard. Three phase ratings describe a supply most British houses do not have, so the working figure at home is 7.4 kW. Citroen quotes six hours 45 minutes at 7.4 kW against four hours 30 at 11 kW for twenty to eighty per cent on the Comfort Range, and the first of those is your driveway.

The calculation is the battery over the delivered kW, uplifted 13 per cent for charging losses, quarter hour rounded. Miles per hour is worked at a conservative 3.5 miles per kWh. Columns are the 2020 hybrid at 13.2 kWh, the 2025 hybrid at 17.8 usable, and the electric Comfort Range at 73.7. The Long Range car takes about half again as long as that last column.
The hybrids are evening charges and the electric car is an overnight one, which is the fundamental difference between the two kinds of vehicle. Citroen markets the 2025 hybrid as up to 60 miles of electric range and up to 70 in city conditions, against a homologated 50 miles.
Which length for a C5 Aircross
Citroen describes the charging flap as being at the rear left of the car, with an LED indicator to show progress, and that is true of every version. On the hybrids it sits opposite the fuel filler.
The C5 Aircross is 4.5 metres or a little more depending on generation, with the socket at the back nearside. Ten metres is the safe default and five works where you reverse in beside a nearside charge point. Fifteen metres suits a detached garage. The measurement that counts is the one taken with the car in its usual spot, plus a margin for the slack the lead needs.
How these cables are built
Construction is to IEC 62196-2 with CE marking, IP55 weather protection and a -30C to +50C operating range.
The three pin unit is IEC 62752 compliant, CE marked, IP67 against water and rated -30C to +60C. Warranty is two years from the manufacturer, delivery free next working day, returns accepted for 30 days.

Citroen C5 Aircross charging cable questions
Do the hybrid and the electric C5 Aircross take the same cable?
Yes. A 32A single phase Type 2 to Type 2 lead suits all three versions, because all of them draw 7.4 kW on a single phase supply.
Can a C5 Aircross plug-in hybrid use a rapid charger?
No. Neither generation of the plug-in hybrid has a DC socket of any kind, so the Type 2 cable is the only way electricity gets into the battery. The electric ë-C5 Aircross takes 160 kW.
I have read the hybrid only charges at 3.7 kW. Is that right?
Not for a UK car. Stellantis describes a 3.7 kW standard charger with 7.4 kW optional in its international material, but Citroen UK's price list specifies 7.4 kW outright for British cars.
