What the Micra does overnight
Nissan puts the same 11 kW AC charger in every grade, so there is no trim to check and no option box that changes the answer. What the buyer needs to know is simpler: on a British home supply the car pulls 7.4 kW, and that clears a 40 kWh battery between the evening news and breakfast.
Unless three phases reach the wall box, and at a house they rarely do, the number that matters is 7.4 kW. Buy the 32A single phase cable and nothing is left on the table. A 16A lead doubles every figure in the table below, which on a car bought for cheap running is a false economy.

The arithmetic is simple: kWh over kW, 13 per cent on top for losses, rounded to the nearest quarter hour. Up to 198 miles WLTP on the Standard Range and 260 on the Extended Range. The range column is deliberately cautious, at 3.5 miles per kWh.
Which length to buy
The port is at the front on the nearside, which is the kerb side, so street charging is straightforward and the cable does not have to cross the car. Nose in towards a wall box on the house wall and 5 metres is comfortable.
Reverse onto the drive and the lead travels the length of the car, so 10 metres is the sensible order. The Micra is short, which stretches every length further than it would go on an SUV.
Sharing its parts with a Renault
The electric Micra is built on the same platform as the Renault 5, with the same battery sizes and the same front nearside charge port. If you have owned or looked at a Renault 5, everything you learned about cable length applies here unchanged.
It also means the same cable serves a household running one of each, which is not as unlikely as it sounds given how the two are priced.

How long does a Micra take to charge?
About six hours from empty for the 40 kWh battery on a 7.4 kW charger, and around eight for the 52 kWh. Both fit inside a normal overnight window with room to spare.
Does every Micra get the 11kW charger?
Yes, on every grade from the entry car upwards. It only shows its value on a three phase supply, though, since a single phase home is limited to 7.4 kW.
