One van, and a usefully simple one. The EV80 is a Type 2 vehicle with a CCS socket for rapid charging, and it charges from the offside front, by the driver's door, where the diesel filler sat on the combustion version.
What changes from model to model
The third column is what each car draws from a single phase British supply, which caps out near 7.4 kW on a 32 amp charge point.
The EV80 takes 7.2 kW and that charger is single phase, so a British supply hands over all of it. Do not read a lower number as a worse car. Single phase chargers hand over their full rating here; three phase ones do not, which narrows the gap to very little. so order the 32 amp version. For a working van charged overnight at a depot or on a driveway, that is the right arrangement: no phases waiting unused and no gap between the brochure figure and what the meter delivers.
The offside front socket matters more on a van than on a car. The EV80 is a large vehicle, and a socket by the driver's door rather than at the rear means nosing into a bay puts the flap within easy reach of a wall box. Reverse it in and the cable has to travel the length of the van.
Because this is a commercial vehicle it is worth saying that the lead is a working item rather than an occasional one. Daily plugging and unplugging is what these cables are built for, and the moulded IP67 heads are the part that decides how long that lasts.
Picking a length for your driveway
The run matters, not the car. Park as you normally would, walk the distance from the charge point to the socket, and add a metre or two. That number is what to order.
Nose in and five metres often reaches thanks to the front socket. For a depot where vans reverse into bays, ten metres is the order, because the socket then sits at the far end from the charge point.
