| Model | Inlet | Maximum at a UK house | Cable to buy |
|---|---|---|---|

Which {M} cable you need, in one table
Most people can order straight from the table. Find the model, take the last column, and follow the link only if you want the detail behind it.
Two electric Genesis models, both Type 2, and they charge from opposite ends of the car. On a five metre saloon that is the difference between a five metre lead and a ten metre one.
Where the {M} range divides
A British house gives one phase, so roughly 7.4 kW is the ceiling however a brochure is worded.
The GV60 reaches 7.4 kW and the Electrified G80 7 kW, so order the 32 amp version on both. Both sit on the same 800 volt architecture as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, which transforms rapid charging and makes no difference whatever on a driveway, where the supply is the limit rather than the car.
The port positions are genuinely different. The GV60 charges from the offside rear quarter behind the rear door; the Electrified G80 charges from the nearside front, in the grille area, with an electrically operated flap. Two cars, two ends of the vehicle.
Genesis is a small range in Britain and it has no collection of its own on our other site, where these cars sit in a catch-all. Here they get their own page, because a G80 owner arriving from a search for a charging cable should not have to work out that their car is technically a Hyundai underneath.
Working out the length
Length is the one decision only you can make, because it depends on your charge point and how you park. Measure the route rather than the car and round upward.
The front-charging G80 parked nose in with the charge point on the kerb side is the shortest run in this range. The GV60 charging from the offside rear with a nearside charge point is the longest, and wants ten metres.
Construction and delivery
All of these cables share one build. IP67 sealed heads, tinned copper conductors and a jacket that stays flexible in the cold, backed by a two year warranty and free next working day delivery.
The same 800 volt engineering appears in the Hyundai range and the Kia range.
Skip the model pages if you already know the connector: the Type 2 to Type 2 charging cable covers every Type 2 Genesis EV here, and the universal cables page has lengths from 5m to 20m.
Genesis charging cable questions
What does a Genesis GV60 charge at on a home wallbox?
Around 7.4 kW on a 32 amp charge point. Higher figures in a brochure assume three phases.
Where is the charge socket on an Electrified G80?
Nearside front, in the grille area, behind an electrically operated flap. The GV60 is completely different and charges from the offside rear.
Does the 800 volt system make home charging faster?
No. It transforms rapid charging at a DC post. At home the single phase supply is the limit, so both cars sit near 7.4 kW.
Do I need a 32A cable?
Yes on both, to reach 7 or 7.4 kW.
Which length for a GV60?
Ten metres, because the offside rear socket is the far corner from a charge point mounted on the house wall.
