Why the hardback version exists
A soft bag sags the moment anything is put on top of it, and a boot gets everything put on top of it. This version holds its shape, so the cable underneath keeps its coil and the connector heads are not being pressed into by a crate of shopping.
It is the choice if your boot is working luggage space rather than a place the cable lives alone.
What goes in it
A coiled lead up to ten metres, and enough room left for the granny charger control box if you carry one. Keep the connector heads on top of the coil so grit does not gather around the pins, which is where charging faults start.
Looking after it
Wipe the outside down when the cable has been dragged through a wet car park. Leave the zip open at home if the lead went in damp. The shell will take a knock, but the cable inside still prefers to dry out between sessions.

Hardback cable bag questions
What is the difference between this and a soft bag?
The shell. This one keeps its shape under load, so the cable is not crushed when the boot is full. A soft bag packs flatter when empty and costs less. Both keep a wet lead off the carpet.
Does it fit a 10m cable?
Yes, coiled in loose loops, with a little room left over. A 15m lead needs the large bag in the range instead.
Is it properly waterproof?
The outer sheds water and wipes clean, and the lining resists dust and corrosion. Treat it as protection for your boot rather than a sealed case, and let a soaked cable dry out at home.
Can it be stacked on in the boot?
That is what the hard shell is for. It will take the weight of ordinary boot loading without the lead inside being squashed.
