A V90 Recharge cannot take DC at any speed from any post, so there is no motorway workaround and no borrowing a tethered lead at a rapid site. Without a \u003ca href=\"\/products\/type-2-to-type-2-charging-cables\"\u003eType 2 cable\u003c\/a\u003e in the boot the electric half of the car is inert and you are driving a heavy petrol estate.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eOne honest caveat about the figures below\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe limit comes from Volvo rather than from us. Its 2024 spec sheets describe a two phase 6.4 kW charger and add, in brackets, that home charging is capped at 3.7 kW. So 16A is the cable, and that part is not in doubt. What we cannot give you with the same confidence is the V90's own pack size: the 11.6 kWh and 31 to 36 mile figures in wide circulation belong to the pre-2022 car and are being recycled for the newer one, and Volvo's published 14.7 kWh usable is stated for the V90's siblings rather than for the V90 itself.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eWhich changes our estimate of the hours and nothing about the purchase, because charge rate comes from the supply and the onboard charger while pack size only sets how long it runs.
