This is one of the simplest collections here, and the only thing worth correcting is a widely repeated claim about the Polestar 2.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eThe 2024 facelift did not change the charger\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eYou will read that the facelifted Polestar 2 got a different onboard charger. It did not, and Polestar's own owner manuals settle it: the three phase table reads 6 amps, 10 amps, then 16 amps at 11 kW maximum on both generations, with the same 48 amp single phase row underneath. The hardware is the same.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhat the facelift genuinely changed was the battery, from 78 to 82 kWh on the Long Range, the DC peak from 155 to 205 kW, and the drive layout of the single motor car from front to rear wheel drive. None of that affects which cable you buy.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eWhat varies across the {M} range\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eDomestic supplies here are single phase, which puts the practical limit at about 7.4 kW.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAlmost nothing. All three take 11 kW three phase chargers and all three therefore land at about 7.4 kW here, and a 32 amp cable carries all of it. You will see 7.2 kW in Polestar's handbook where the databases print 7.4; both describe 32 amps on one phase and the difference is rounding rather than hardware.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Polestar 4 is the one exception on paper, offering a 22 kW three phase charger. It needs three phases at 32 amps each and a British house has one, so it delivers the same 7.4 kW as the standard unit. Its value is at a 22 kW public AC post and nowhere near a driveway. Neither the Polestar 2 nor the 3 ever offered anything larger than 11 kW.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBecause the batteries are large and the home rate is capped, these cars reward nightly top ups rather than occasional full charges. The 11 kW rating is a three phase one; a British supply offers a single phase and 32 amps of it, so the answer is 7.4 kW across the range. Polestar's manual writes it as 7.2 kW, which is the same thing at a slightly more conservative voltage.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eBatteries and range across the versions\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe Standard Range started at 69 kWh gross and grew to 70 for the 2025 model year, with 66 to 67 usable. The Long Range was 78 kWh gross and 75 usable before the facelift and 82 gross with 79 usable after it. The two figures cover the Standard Range and the post facelift Long Range.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eEleven hours for a Long Range car from genuinely empty, which is an overnight job rather than an evening one. In practice nobody charges from zero; a forty mile day costs under two hours on the drive.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eNo larger charger was ever offered\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eUnlike the Polestar 4, the 2 never had an optional 22 kW charger. No Polestar 2 manual contains a 32 amp three phase row. There is nothing to specify and nothing to miss out on, which at least makes the buying decision simple.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eWhich length for a Polestar 2\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe flap is on the nearside rear quarter, operated by hand, in the position a fuel filler would occupy. A UK owner puts it plainly: charging is by CCS under the manually operated petrol flap on the near side rear. The inlet is at the nearside rear, in the conventional filler position.
