That is the whole story of this collection, and it is why we would not order a length here without checking the model first.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eHow the models differ, and where it matters\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe third column is what each car draws from a single phase British supply, which caps out near 7.4 kW on a 32 amp charge point.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eNot the charging rate: 6.6 kW across the Omoda 7, Omoda 9 and E5, drawing roughly 29 amps, so the 32 amp lead is the one to order. Being a single phase figure it arrives in full at a British house, so the wall box waits on the car rather than the reverse. Treat a lower rating with less suspicion than it deserves. Where the charger is single phase the car collects its whole rating at a British house, which a three phase car never does.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis is a range where the socket genuinely moves about, so the length you need depends on which model you have. The pages below give the position for each. One Omoda charges from the FRONT, dead centre of the grille, with a flap released from inside. One charges from the nearside rear. The E5 charges from the centre of the front grille, and the flap is not released from outside: the owner manual instructs you to open the front compartment cover, then pull the charging port cover rope, at which point the flap slides up. Do that once and you will remember it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe charge socket is at the front of the car rather than on a flank, which changes the length calculation entirely: you measure from the nose to the charge point, and whether you park nose in or reverse becomes the whole question rather than a detail. The German technical catalogue records this car as charging from the driver side rear, which is simply wrong: four sources including Omoda own UK owner manual place the socket in the front grille, and one of them describes the release procedure. If you have been given a cable length on the assumption of a rear socket, measure again.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eWhat the car takes, from its own manual\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe UK owner manual publishes the onboard charger performance directly, which is rarer than it should be. One hardware variant is listed as a maximum of 6.6 kW on a single phase and 9.9 kW on three; another is listed at 11 kW maximum. Either way the single phase figure is 6.6 kW.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe 6.6 kW rating is a single phase rating, which means it is also the rating you get at home. About 29 amps at 230 volts is comfortably within a domestic supply, so this car is as quick on a driveway as it is anywhere else in the country. The Australian right hand drive specification sheet for the same car says \"6.6kW Single Phase \/ 10.3kW Three Phase\" and an electric vehicle association fact sheet gives the current as 30 amps. Every source that separates the phases lands on 6.6 kW; none says 7.4. A bigger cable cannot change this, because the limit sits in the car rather than the lead.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eBattery, range and a figure that is often misread\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eOmoda UK quotes 61 kWh and 267 miles WLTP. The owner manual power battery table lists two packs, 61.0 and 58.9 kWh total energy, which are two hardware variants rather than a gross and usable pair - an independent database presents them as \"58.9 usable \/ 60.9 total\", which conflates them. No usable figure is published for either.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDC charging is best supported at 130 kW, with Omoda UK quoting thirty to eighty per cent in 28 minutes; Omoda Singapore says 80 kW. The arithmetic favours the higher figure: half of a 61 kWh pack in 28 minutes is a 65 kW average, which an 80 kW peak could only manage by holding 81 per cent of peak throughout. The miles column uses 3.5 miles per kWh, which holds up in winter as well as summer. Columns are the two published pack sizes. No usable figure exists, so these are total energy figures and real times run shorter.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eEleven to twelve hours from genuinely empty on the figure that applies to a house. At 6.6 kW the E5 gains about 23 miles an hour, so a seven hour off peak window covers 160 miles of driving.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eWhich length for an E5\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eMeasure from the charge point to the nose of the car.
