The table translates each car's rating into what it will actually pull on that supply, which is the only figure worth comparing when you are choosing a lead.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eHow the models differ, and where it matters\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Ariya, Micra and later Leaf all reach 7.4 kW, so nothing smaller than a 32 amp cable makes sense. The e-NV200 Combi takes 6.6 kW, and the e-NV200 Van varies between 3.3 and 6.6 kW depending on how it was specified, so the van is the one to check. A smaller rating can be the better arrangement. A single phase charger delivers everything it claims on a domestic supply, whereas a three phase one loses two thirds of its phases at the meter.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhat makes Nissan unusual is the port position, and it is the same on every Leaf built between 2011 and 2024: dead centre of the nose, under one flap that also houses the rapid charging socket. No other high-volume brand does this. Columns are the 24 kWh car at 22 kWh usable, the 40 kWh at 39 and the 62 kWh e+ at 59. Ranges were 199 and 250 km NEDC on the early cars, then 168 and 239 miles WLTP on the second generation.
