The 6.6 kW figure is single phase, so a British house supplies all of it and the practical gap between the two cars is about twelve per cent rather than the difference the numbers suggest. A smaller rating can be the better arrangement. A single phase charger delivers everything it claims on a domestic supply, whereas a three phase one loses two thirds of its phases at the meter.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhere the socket sits is not consistent here, so read the model page before you pick a length. Each one names the flank and whether it is at the front or the rear. One car charges from the offside front wing, forward of the driver's door, and the other from a rear flank whose side no source confirms. Where that is the case we say so on the model page instead of inferring it, because a wrong flank is a wrong cable.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGeely is new enough in Britain that published information is thin, so the model pages are explicit about which figures come from Geely and which are corroborated from elsewhere. The charger is 6.6 kW and genuinely single phase, which is about 29 amps, so a British house supplies every watt of it. Nothing is lost to the phase count, and a 7 kW wall box simply runs at the pace the car sets.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eGeely's own brochure states it as \"up to 6.6kW AC charging\", and the supporting evidence is in how the car behaves across supply types: one phase at 32 amps gives it 6.6 kW, while three phases at 16 amps give it only 3.7. A three phase charger would take 11 kW there. Being capped at one phase's worth is what proves the hardware is single phase.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eYou may see 11 kW quoted for the EX2 in one UK press article. That looks like EX5 data carried across to the smaller car, and Geely's own document disagrees with it. The extra amps would simply sit unused, so there is nothing to gain from a bigger cable. A 16A cable carries 3.6 kW so the 32A version is the one that unlocks the full 6.6, but nothing beyond that is of any use.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eTwo batteries, and the DC difference\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003ePro carries 35.4 kWh and is quoted at 156 miles, with DC charging at 60 kW and about 25 minutes for 30 to 80 per cent. Max and Ultra carry 47.1 kWh for 214 miles, with DC at 80 kW over the same 25 minutes. Geely publishes no separate gross figure, so these are the capacities as stated.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eSeven hours from empty on the larger battery sits neatly inside an overnight cheap-rate window, and the smaller one manages it in about five and a half. These are short charges, which is what a modest battery buys you.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eWhich length for an EX2\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eOne honest caveat here. The port is on a rear flank, but no UK source states which side, and unlike the EX5 there is no right hand drive market fact sheet to check against. European data points to the left of the vehicle, which would be the nearside, but we are not going to present that as established.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eOpen the flap and look, then measure. On a car this small the practical answer is usually five metres for a dedicated bay and ten for anything awkward. A home charge point on a single phase hands the car 7.4 kW. The 32A single phase cable covers it in full. Anything quoted quicker elsewhere is a three phase figure rather than a home one.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eWhat makes the EX5 unusual is that Geely's own press office frames it correctly rather than hiding behind the headline. It describes the 11 kW charger as standard and then adds that customers with three phase electricity supplies and 11 kW wall boxes can achieve even faster charging. That is a manufacturer telling you, in writing, that the 11 kW figure is conditional on a supply most homes do not have.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe numbers behind it: 9 hours 45 minutes to full on 7.4 kW single phase against 6 hours 30 on 11 kW three phase, on the 60 kWh car.
